Ignorance of the law is not excused

It is true that ignorance of the law is not excused. Law by nature is pervasive (spread throughout the area or something spread to all parts). It is generally known and accepted that every person is presumed to know the law. If you break the law knowingly or unknowingly, it is punishable. For e.g. if you break a contract or sell drug or harass someone’s right then you can’t get away with it by arguing you didn't know it was against the law. You can’t defend your actions by arguing you didn't know they were illegal. This is true even if you didn't realize you broke the law.

It is also true that we can’t possibly remember all the laws and regulations that exist. But in order to get well informed about the rules and regulations, we can always take an expert advice or hire a lawyer.
